Hell, yes! You CAN do this. You can get anything you want in your life and I’m spilling my ten-step plan, so you can get your dream, too. Because the world kind of rocks when there are more and more people living their lives on purpose and expressing themselves through the eyes of someone that achieved their dreams. And, right now we need that world. Let’s get to work!
1. Define what you want.
Listen up: You have to be crystal clear here. Do not just say, “I want to be happy.” That’s not going to work. Instead, journal about your dreams and goals until you can easily say exactly what you want for you. You should be able to articulate it in a single sentence – make it simple, clear, and concise.
2. Decide when it's going to happen.
Notice I didn't say 'how' it's going to happen, just 'when'. A goal is nothing without a completion date. Choose a date that is realistic to you. If it feels completely outlandish to you that you can do a handstand tomorrow, then it won’t happen. Instead, maybe tell yourself that you would like to be able to get up in handstand by the end of the year, so you have time to build toward the goal.
3. Sit in silence and visualize.
Picture yourself already having what you want. Too many people focus on the wanting of something instead of the having. You are always creating what you think. If you are wanting than you create more wanting.
4. Practice gratitude for what you want to bring into your life before it’s there.
This can be tricky, but it totally works. While you are envisioning what you want, practice gratitude as if it’s already yours. The action of practicing gratitude speeds up the process of manifesting your desires. The Universe matches like with like. If you are already grateful for the thing you would like to bring into your life, the Universe will match it to you and roll it out in perfect timing.
5. Take action, big or small, that is a reach towards what you want.
Want to write book? You have to write a sentence. Want to run a marathon? Learn how to run a mile. Want to create your own business? Sit down and get started. Want to achieve handstand? Learn how to do Crow Pose.
6. Tell other people about what you would like to bring into your life.
You might feel funny about doing this, but you should. You know how people tell you to never tell your birthday wish to others after you blow out the candles because it might not come true? That is one huge pile of horseshit. Tell people your dreams. You never know when the people you share your dream with will give you the idea, match you with another person that could help, or tell you the one piece of information you need to know. Share your dreams!
7. Drink water, exercise, and love yourself.
Self-care is a must. If you aren’t taking care of yourself, no one else will. And, if you’re hydrated, flexible, strong, and full of love, good things always follow.
8. Get rid of anything in your environment that is the opposite of what you want.
If you want to be healthy, clear out the unhealthy food. If you want to manifest the love of your life, get rid of the tokens from your previous relationship. If you want to be wealthy, ditch the things that make you feel poor.
9. Help someone else achieve their goal/dream/want.
Oh, yeah. This is not only a huge step to take, but a fun one, too. Encourage others. No two dreams are the same. Even if they look and sound like the same thing, people go after things for very different reasons. And, there is nothing better than witnessing someone step into their greatness. It’s super good ju-ju.
10. Doubt your doubt.
There are going to be days where you will doubt you will ever get the thing you want. Get through them. Do something good for yourself. Take time out to lay face down on the bed and feel the feels. Go for a walk. Talk to a good trusted friend. Whatever you need to do. But, get to the other side of it. Go back to the top of the list and make sure you’re doing everything you can. And, know that if it’s not happening, it’s only because you might be thinking too small. The Universe is planning something even better for you. Have faith. It’s on its way.
